Level Guide
It is important to attend a class that is suitable for your level of experience. Check the list below for a guide to each level.
Please don't be tempted to try a level 2 class until you have a good understanding of the principles of Pilates. If you are in any doubt about
which level would be appropriate for you then contact PilatesPeople by email or telephone (0131 621 0649),
and we will be happy to advise you.
- Level E (Pilates for the over 60's) is a slower class designed for older people or those looking for a gentle approach. The focus of this course will be on improving mobility, strength and posture.
- Level 1 is suitable for individuals who have no prior experience of Pilates,
or those who require a refresher course.
- Level 1+ is designed to bridge the gap between the beginners course and the more challenging level 2 general class. Participants must have completed a full beginners course.
- Level 2 is a general class suitable for those wishing to practice Pilates at a more challenging level. This course is open to anyone who has
completed the 1+ course (or equivalent).
- Level 3 is an advanced class for individuals with extensive Pilates experience. This course requires a good level of
fitness and is suitable for those wishing to work at a high level. Absolute minimum prerequisite of two level 2 courses.
If you have a medical condition check here to see if Pilates is suitable for you.
